North East healthcare Oscars scaled down

THE North East’s healthcare Oscars have had a facelift for 2010 in the wake of last week’s Spending Review.

In a bid to drive the growth of the healthcare sector in the North East, business support network Cels has made the decision to change the format and style of the Business for Life Awards and will reduce ticket prices to ensure all business can take part.

This year’s event will be held on the Thursday 11 November at The Assembly Rooms in Newcastle, and will be presented once again by TV’s Wendy Gibson.

Ticket prices have been significantly reduced and the format of the event will be less formal than it has been in previous years.

The evening will have a ‘lounge suit’ dress code and will include a cocktail reception with canapés and informal networking opportunities with HealthConnect members, nominees, industry representatives and award sponsors.

Mike Asher, CEO of Cels, is encouraging all North East healthcare and life sciences companies to get involved with the event. He said: “These awards aspire to draw attention to and provide exposure for the great work that is being done in the healthcare industry.

“Through events like this we can help to keep the North East at the forefront of healthcare and life sciences in the UK, and in turn increase the region’s profile and success on a global scale.”
