Gentoo launches green service for tomorrow

NORTH EAST people and property firm Gentoo has unveiled a green energy initiative that is set to dramatically improve energy efficiency and drive down energy bills.

According to the firm, the new technology works by converting sunlight into electricity.

This technology is applied to roof tiles so the roof space of your home can be utilised to harness the sun’s solar energy, turning it into electricity which can be used to run household appliances and lighting.

Sally Hancox, Director of Gentoo Green, explained: “With energy bills forecast to increase by 60% by 2016 now really is the time to invest in renewable energy.

“This, coupled with Government backed feed in tariff incentives, gives a typical return on investment much better than those offered by banks at the moment.

“Solar PV really is a great investment and it’s good for the planet too which makes it even better.”

Feed-in Tariffs (FITs) became available in Great Britain from of 1st April 2010.

Under this scheme energy suppliers make regular payments to householders who generate their own electricity from renewable or low carbon sources such as solar electricity (PV) panels.

This means that, not only will customers experience a monthly reduction in electricity bills they will also then receive an income from the feed-in tariff provider.
