No place like home for Waterstons’ recruitment drive

ONE of the regions IT Consultancies has expanded its team and created 9 new jobs as part of its ongoing recruitment drive.

Durham based Waterstons has recruited three graduates, four consultants and two placement students since June as a result of a growing client base.

All three graduates joining Waterstons have recently graduated from universities in the North East.

Amy Campbell, Waterstones, human resources manager said: “Retaining Graduate talent within the North East continues to be a key part of our recruitment strategy. Graduates are motivated, keen to learn and come with fresh and innovative ideas.”

“It is widely recognised that there is currently a shortfall in IT graduates; this makes it increasingly important that we retain those that study in the North East in the region following graduation.”

Waterstons’ latest round of recruitment has also resulted in a significant Microsoft expert remaining in the region.

Andrew Westgarth who has joined Waterstons as a Senior Consultant in the company’s development department has been a Microsoft Most Valued Professional (MVP) since July 2008.

Amy Campbell added: “Waterstons has secured a number of new clients in the last 12 months, allowing us to grow our team.

“We wanted new recruits who were able to hit the ground running, which is exactly what Andrew has done, he has a phenomenal amount of knowledge and experience.”
