Darlington cafe welcomes expansion
A DARLINTON based food and drink venue has already eyed expansion and has predicted a turnover of £250,000 in its first year of trading.
Prego on Grange Road employs 5 members of staff and hopes to open a second venue in the region.
The Italian-style café sells coffee, cakes and sandwiches during the day and wine and cocktails by night.
Former Royal Marine Neal Curry launched Prego with the support of his business partner Graham Clarke, having managed various hospitality organisations in the past.
He said: “It feels great to finally be doing something on my own which I have dreamt of for a long time.
“It’s been quite stressful but I’m used to working the long hours that come with the hospitality industry and I’m just really excited to finally be open and welcome customers.”
The cafe caters for the young professional market but aims to attract any customers in search of a cosy atmosphere.
Mr Curry added: “The decor is fresh and modern and the aim is to meet the gap in the market for young professionals in the 25 to 30 age bracket that exists in Darlington.”
