Lightning new deals for Darlington firm
One of County Durham’s family run businesses has netted new contracts £200,000 as its reputation in specialist areas grows nationwide.
Stone Technical Services, run by brothers Dave and Graham Stone on Kellaw Road in Darlington, provides specialist lightning protection installation to help prevent damage to buildings caused by lightning strikes and to ensure that systems are compliant for insurance purposes.
Because of the changing climate and heightened health and safety rules, this is proving an area of rapid growth for Stone which operates to the highest industrial compliance standards for lightning protection.
Recently, the firm has secured new contracts to install lightning protection systems to a number of sites including 13 blocks of flats undergoing refurbishment in North London for Homes for Haringey, a grade II-listed art deco residential block at Lichfield Court in Richmond, Surrey and Chelsea FC’s training ground in Cobham, Surrey.
Managing director, Dave Stone said: “Lightning protection installation is a major growth area for us not least because of the rapid increase of, and dependency on, technology in business today.
“What’s more, health and safety is a major area of concern for businesses. We work very closely with organisations- large and small- to ensure their lightning protection systems are fully compliant for insurance purposes.”
