Ponteland company drives into the future
A NORTH East businessman is aiming to provide a recession-busting solution to the vehicle hire needs of the region’s SMEs.
Managing director of Giraffe Automotive Services, Mel Goodliffe, of Northumberland, has launched FLEXXiVan - a low cost, web-based van hire service, to ease the tough economic challenges that companies face in 2011.
Figures released last month by the Office of National Statistics showed that the North East was home to 7,000 more businesses in 2010 than in 2005.
However, with 2011 set to be a challenging year for small businesses, FLEXXiVan is helping to cut costs by offering an alternative to expensive new vehicles or long-term van leases.
Mel Goodliffe said: “Historically, van leasing contracts have required a 4-5 year commitment with potential heavy penalties for early termination, but we’ve deliberately made FLEXXiVan different, providing a cost effective approach, shorter leases, lower costs and a lot more freedom.
“Our top priority is to keep van drivers on the road for less, through offering an excellent range of commercial vehicles at unbeatable prices.”
