Coffee firm perks up its web presence
ONE of the region’s oldest firms has seen a boost in sales after investing in revamping its online presence.
Family-run Pumphrey’s, which has been trading in Newcastle since 1750, is one of the UK’s longest established coffee suppliers.
The historic company has now entered a new era with its refreshed website that will take its premium tea and coffee range to both the catering market and the general public worldwide.
Following the creation and completion of www.pumphreys-coffee.co.uk by Gateshead-based web agency AYO Media, the beverage business has already seen a growth in sales.
This has followed a 25% increase in visitors to the website and returning customers up to an impressive 43%, which has been helped by the inclusion of a launch ‘welcome’ voucher code that gives visitors 10% off their order.
Stuart-Lee Archer, marketing director at Pumphrey’s, said: “As the coffee industry has evolved over the past few years, the internet has become a major trading platform that allows businesses such as Pumphrey’s to expand into national and international markets.
“Our new website will help us to integrate with our customers, making it faster and easier for them to buy products from us and quickly re-order new stock. This also gives us a great starting point to drive our online sales.”
