Tyneside hospitality company creates new jobs

Expanding Tyneside restaurant company 21 Hospitality Group is to create more than 30 new jobs to keep pace with ongoing growth.

Chef and restaurateur Terry Laybourne is expanding his firm by developing a new pub and food venue – called The Broad Chare - on Newcastle’s historic Quayside – in partnership with Live Theatre.

This new food-led pub is directly creating new jobs but also vacancies are emerging at other restaurants within the group as a result of promotions and staff transfers to The Broad Chare.

Mr Laybourne said: “This is an exciting time for the group. Construction work is well underway on the new Broad Chare and this is creating a wide range of job opportunities for kitchen and front of house staff.

“We are creating jobs for young apprentices as well as for those with proven cooking, waiting and management skills. As a company we embrace continuous training, whether that’s developing existing skills or investing in fresh talent.”

Opening in early May, The Broad Chare is actively recruiting for an assistant manager, a bar supervisor, bar tenders, waiting staff, sous chef, chefs de partie, commis chefs and kitchen porters.
