Entrepreneurial secrets to be uncovered

Serial entrepreneur Sarah McVittie is to share her secrets of attracting investment with the North East’s CEOs of tomorrow at an event in Newcastle next week.

Sarah, dubbed one of the top 35 women under 35 by the Times is now running her second venture, fashion and styling service Dressipi, after selling the multi-million pound mobile phone service business Textperts that she founded aged 25.

North East entrepreneurs and businesses seeking to secure investment for their own ventures have the opportunity to hear from Sarah during a Routes to Investment workshop, being run by Newcastle Science City and North East Access to Finance and a lunch hosted by Girl Geeks Limited, about how she raised £2.5m from investors.

The free workshop, sponsored by Muckle LLP, is to be held on Thursday, April 14 at Muckle’s premises at Time Central, Gallowgate, Newcastle, and is part of a series of events aimed at getting businesses investor-ready.

As well as gaining a personal insight from Sarah, attendees will hear from experts in management controls and governance to help them formulate their business plan in preparation for pitching to business angels or venture capitalists.

The workshop will run from 8.30am to 2pm and will include a lunch with Sarah. The lunchtime event is free to Girl Geeks members and those attending the workshop but is also open to others at a £10 charge.
