Awards success gives North East dentist something to smile about
A North East dentist is smiling after scooping a record six national accolades.
Dr Ken Harris, of Riveredge Cosmetic Dentistry in Sunderland and Newcastle, won two awards outright and was highly commended in a further four categories at the UK Smile Awards 2011.
Voted for by a panel of judges from the dental and medical professions, the awards recognise clinical excellence in dental and facial aesthetics.
Dr Harris received his awards during a special ceremony at London’s Royal Garden Hotel.
Dr Harris triumphed in the categories of Conservative Ceramic Smile – where only minimal crowns, veneers or bleaching treatments have been applied - and Generosity of Smile, which recognises dentists who donate their services and time without charge.
He was also highly commended in the categories of Restorative Smile, Interdisciplinary Smile and Patient’s Smile.
The experienced dentist was also jointly highly commended in the Conservative Composite Smile category.
Dr Harris said: “It was a great honour to collect so many awards and I would like to thank my team as this would not have been possible without them.
“ It’s always good to win these accolades, especially down in London where we love to keep flying the flag for the North East“.
