Winner of Design Network North Contract unveiled
RTC North has successfully won their bid to run Design Network North (DNN) from the Baltic Business Quarter on Gateshead.
Design Network North has already enhanced the local economy by £7m since its inception in 2009, and the cash injection from RTC North over the next three years will allow this regional asset to prosper further.
The company’s move to the new Northern Design Centre in January 2012 will also provide more space for small and medium businesses that are looking to improve their premises.
Gateshead Council chose to award RTC North with the contract due to their extensive experience in business and innovation management within the region
Councillor Malcom Graham, Cabinet member for Economic Development says:
“We are delighted to be working with RTC North who have a lot of experience and a strong track record in this area.”
“The Northern Design Centre will be an important regional focus for design in the North East and a vital resource to North East business”
The aim of Design Network North is to improve regional companies’ ability to utilise high-quality design, skills and processes. It has since received backing from big names such as Aston Martin, Proctor & Gamble and Motorola.
