Local pub chain goes into administration

Sunderland hotel and pub group Bar Operations Limited and its subsidiary Hoffman Inns have gone into administration.

The company, which owns Paddywacks bar in Sunderland City Centre and the Pullman Lodge, as well as several other venues in the area, employs around 60 staff.

The business has experienced difficult trading conditions as well as increasing pressure from creditors, leading to wind up orders being filed against the companies.

Despite the changes, both businesses will continue to trade as usual and customers and employees will be unaffected by the administration.

Nick Reed, joint administrator and partner at PwC said: “The administration is clearly disappointing news for all of the stakeholders, and employees in particular.”

However, we are working alongside the directors to secure a rapid sale of the business and assets of Bar Operations and Hoffman Inns Limited. Consequently we are very keen to speak to anyone who might have an interest in these acquisition opportunities“.
