Local company recycles factory
A signage company is doing its bit for the environment by using an old factory to move into the next stage of its development.
Jonathon Cawthorn, owner of Jonsigns LTD noticed the old City plumbing premises at Saltmeadows Road, and decided to buy it with the intention of refurbishing it instead of building a new one.
The building currently undergoing refurbishment will feature energy efficient lighting throughout, recycled office furnishings and signage featuring energy efficicnt LED lighting. Thereby staying true to the company’s already established environmental policy.
Jonathon Cawthorn, owner of Jonsigns LTD in Gateshead, said: “We recognise that the companys’ day to day operations and products have both a positive and negative impact on the environment.
“We are fully committed to minimising the pollution and harmful effects of the companys’ actions and products wherever practicable.
Renovating the existing building allows the company to continue to ensure that their activities are conducted in accordance with good environmental practices.
“We have a great team here, a cutting edge Sign company and some very loyal customers, providing a strong foundation to build on.”
