Onsite North East site purchased
Sanderson Weatherall has just completed the sale of a 4.5-acre site at Ashwood Business Park, which is set to house a 40,000 sq ft office development.
The commercial property firm brokered the deal on behalf of Onsite North East, a public private joint venture between regional development agency One North East and regeneration specialists Langtree.
The site has been purchased by Bernicia, a North East Affordable housing company, who will use the site to house its workforce, which is currently based at Kingston Park, Newcastle.
Bernicia chairman Ian Armstrong MBE said: “A relocation to the area fits perfectly with our ambitions for the business.
’We are continuing to grown and our catchment area is increasing, so we need a base that is central for all of our clients.
It is now hoped that the development of grade A office and ancillary space will attract further businesses to the area in the future.
Associate Partner at Sanderson Weatherall LLP Richard Scott, said: “The sale to Bernicia on a prominent site at the entrance to the scheme, is a real shot in the arm for the business park.
“This deal is one of many Sanderson Weatherall are currently working on across the Onsite portfolio, and we look forward to continuing a strong relationship.”
Ashwood Business Park is a 90 acre, strategically located site, south east of the town centre with direct access to and from the A189 Spine road.
