Manufacturing orders higher than expected
Manufacturing orders in the UK have been slightly better than expected this month according to BBC reports.
The CBI International Trends Survey found that more manufacturers were reporting that orders were up in comparison to those reporting they were down. There was also an improvement on last month’s figures.
Despite this however, the CBI is still predicting that there is still trouble ahead for manufacturers, as market volatility and growth expectations worldwide could still hit business confidence.
While inflation pressure has eased, fewer firms are predicting they will be forced to raise prices over the next quarter.
