New technology helps chiropodist go toe-to-toe with rivals
One of Tyneside’s oldest family-owned chiropody and podiatry practices expects its turnover to rocket by 40% thanks to a new investment in “revolutionary” technology
The Dow Clinic, based in Heaton, Newcastle, is enjoying one of the busiest periods in its history after becoming the second practice in the entire UK to invest in a new advancement in technology used to treat toenail fungal infections.
The company is one of only two clinics of their type outside London and one of only five in the whole of the UK to offer its patients PinPointe FootLaser treatment.
Hamish Dow, who runs the business with his wife Vanessa, said: “PinPointe has been absolutely excellent for turnover. We have found our niche in the market with a new, innovative approach to age-old problems.
“A lot of people think they can only get this treatment in London, but we can offer people right here in the North East access to this groundbreaking technology.
“Not only is the treatment safe and painless, it is drug free, meaning our clients don’t have to suffer the often significant side-effects which come with certain drugs.”
The technology means that sufferers of toenail fungal infections in the North East no longer have to rely on drug treatments that can have numerous side effects, or travel to London for specialist treatment.
The new rapid laser treatment is said to be painless, hygienic and needs no doctor’s prescription.
