The SR1 Tech-a-thon, save a charity and win some great prizes
A number of Sunderland businesses have come forward to show their support and take part in a 24 hour Tech-a-thon by donating prizes to help raise money and save a charity from closure.
The SR1 Tech-a-thon is an opportunity for members of the public to have their broken IT equipment repaired; come away with some great prizes, and most importantly, in the process help save Donna Claire Respite Home, based in Seaburn, from closure.
With the support of local businesses the SR1 Tech-a-thon team have lined up some great prizes for everyone that gets involved in the 24-hour fund raising event.
“We are very happy with the generosity of local businesses for the event. It’s wonderful to see businesses come forward and donate prizes to the event. It means that for all the people taking the time to help us raise awareness and funds for Donna Claire there is the opportunity to walk away with some great goodies,” said SR1 Director Michael McCarroll.
All corporate donors and sponsors have the opportunity to walk away with one of three available IT support packages worth over £1,500 for a prize that have been generously donated by SR1 IT Solutions. There is also a day of IT training up for grabs provided by Secrets of Software.
The wonderful people at Sunderland Empire Cinemas have donated two tickets to see any film of your choice. This great prize is up for grabs for everyone that likes and gets involved in spreading the word through the event Facebook page: www.facebook.com/sr1techathon
For members of the public that donate to the event; through the online platform www.everyclick.com/techathon; in person; hardware donation or submitting hardware for repair there are four prizes available. Our friends at Tenpin Sunderland have donated two family bowling packages. Each package offers a game of bowling for the family of up to six people. There is also a Marks & Spencer gift voucher worth £20 up for grabs and if this wasn’t enough we’re also giving you the opportunity to win a Sunderland FC home or away shirt of your choice.
There are a number of ways people can get involved in the event, be it volunteering for the 24-hour endurance event, help raise money by downloading a sponsorship form from www.sr1techathon.info, by submitting hardware for repair for £30 (plus cost of parts if necessary) to be assessed and repaired by SR1 IT Solutions. All hardware can be dropped off to the Software Hatchery on St Peters university campus no later than 8 September 2011.
More information about the event and prizes to be won can be found at www.sr1techathon.info or by email contact@sr1techathon.info.
