It’s a date: Sharon Kell from Coco Moon explains how her introductions agency operates
Sharon Kell is the founder of Coco Moon, a North East-based introductions agency, which offers a bespoke and discreet service to busy single professionals.
Sharon is educated to degree level in business and finance and is qualified in relationship, business and executive coaching
The company also provides both professional and romantic relationship coaching.
Why did you set up Coco Moon?
I have experienced a dating agency and found it to be merely based on crude data matching. I could have got the same results by opening a phone book!
I felt that with my business background I could offer a much better more personal service.
Why do people turn to Coco Moon?
Our members are busy professionals who work long hours and, therefore, find it difficult to meet potential partners due to lack of time or opportunity.
Most people in business spend a lot of time mastering the art of commercial success, but often have little time to nurture relationships outside work and become increasingly frustrated that no-one matches up to what they are looking for when they do find time to socialise.
How does your service work?
We introduce members through personalised processes rather than computer driven checklists.
This includes our expert staff holding personal consultations with potential customers prior to offering and accepting membership.
What methods do you use?
Our methodology is indepth and complex and looks at all elements of a person’s life to really understand them as an individual.
We work with members using our tried and tested systems to select introductions on their behalf. Our methodology recognises that relationships are not an exact science, however to give clients the very best probability of finding a lasting relationship, there are elements of two individuals which work best when there are similarities, and also areas which work best when there are distinct differences between two people.
We do this work on our members’ behalf, introducing one to another using a range of considerations, an approach which is fundamentally different to the dating market. Our methodology recognises that the obvious isn’t always obvious in relationship.
Another key factor which differentiates us from internet dating is members, should they wish, can also access bespoke relationship coaching sessions.
How successful is your business?
Our financial turnover and membership have grown steadily. We recently secured a six figure investment from Rivers Capital which will support the introduction of new technology to make the business scalable; the recruitment of additional staff to allow the business to work with a broader audience and the expansion of Coco Moon’s services across a bigger geographical area.
While many introduction agencies measure and publicise success focusing on the number of romances, long-term relationships and marriages, Coco Moon does not do this due to our strict confidentiality agreements.
