Survey gives local businesses the boost to invest in time-saving technology

A North East software company specialising in efficiency technology have seen a significant rise in interest following a recent bdaily poll.

North East software company Mintronics has seen a significant rise in interest, following a recent poll on Bdaily.

Mintronics asked readers how much time they believe most organisations could gain by more efficient and effective use of information, and 68% of respondents said that companies could save more than 10% of their time.

Since the poll and article, Mintronics have received an increased number of requests for information on their services, and have subsequently made further quotes.

Mark Snell, sales director, said: “The poll results reflect the discussions we are having with many organisations that there are still major gains to be made from handling information more effectively.”

The firm have recently installed its M-Files Document Management System in the Darlington offices of the major Dutch engineering business Visser & Smit Marine Contracting, one of the world’s leading sub-sea cabling operations.

Managing director of VSMC, Paul Gilhooley, said: “More and more companies are now investigating ways to add further value to the way they work.

“One of the biggest assets is information and knowledge that is generated and held in the business, so it is important to use and handle that information to increase efficiency.”

John Minto, managing director of Mintronics, went on to say that originally business information systems and document management systems were the preserve of larger companies, however now, they are available at costs affordable to micro-businesses.

He said: “With efficiency gains of more than 10% to be made as highlighted in the Bdaily poll most companies find that the return on investment is around six to eight months.

“We are finding that many companies initially buy perhaps 10 or 20 M-Files licences to trial in one department or for one project.”
