Yorkshire Building Society expands with 120 jobs

Yorkshire Building Society has announced it will create more than 120 financial jobs, following a series of successful mergers and acquisitions.

The company is looking to recruit for its head office in Bradford, and will employ local workers, as well as drawing national talent to the region.

Bosses are also looking to lease new office space in the area to accommodate the expansion.

The move follows this month’s successful merger with Norwich and Peterborough, making it the UK’s second largest building society.

Corporate development manager for YBS, Andy Caton, said: “We place high importance on the quality of our customer service and our recruitment of new staff reflects our continuing commitment to this priority.

“We value our Yorkshire roots and are pleased to be creating more jobs and supporting the local economy.”

Bradford councillor David Green added that it was tremendous news for the Bradford area, and was a clear demonstration of the promise being shown by the north of England.

He said: “This is great news for Bradford and reflects the continued growth of one of our highest-profile employers.”
