Confidence: Ian Kinnery’s advice for business success
Ian Kinnery spent over 20 years working in business before becoming a business coach, knows only too well the strain many business owners are under.
“I’ve owned businesses and run businesses for other people, and in terms of issues, it can be difficult,” he explains. “It helps as I have been there - only around 1% of the population are business owners, so I feel this gives me more authority and empathy to know how to advise them
Ian decided to set up his business, Team Massive Results, seven years ago and now uses his own experiences to help turn around ailing businesses and helping them grow into something profitable.
“I have a real passion for business, and an absolute faith in people’s abilities to achieve more, backed by coal faced business experiences, constant development and great methodology,” Ian continues.
“Equally anyone can have an idea for a business - a hairdresser many know how to dress hair, but the success of their salon is dependent on their ability to run a business - and I believe I can help with that.”
While each individual company is different, Ian believes that the support of a business coach can be vital in helping them to achieve their personal and professional goals.
“Professional sports players know they can’t do it by themselves - so they get a coach, and in business it is the same.
“Many people have MBAs, but theory is different to practice, and I try to show what to do with the skills they already have.
While many individuals have been dissuaded from setting up a business in the current economic climate, Ian is unperturbed by the difficulties, and is keen to stress that businesses need to retain confidence.
“In terms of the issues that businesses are facing, it really is a question of ‘how much time have you got?’”, says Ian, “But all they need is a little encouragement - if the seas are rough, it just means you need to give it a little more direction, that’s all.”
Despite his obvious talent for nurturing businesses - Ian has spoken at severl international conferences for business development, and has also been awarded the titles of Gold and Platinum Master Coach, he firmly attributed the success of his business to his clients.
“I work with some first rate businesses, who have given me some great testimonials - some have doubled their business turnover in 9 months, increased the size of their business 20 fold - and my satisfaction comes from the successes they get.
“Ultimately my job is to get people to be the best that they can be, and when they achieve that it is incredibly rewarding.”
