N.E. Businesses must implement effective growth strategies
Many businesses in the region could be making themselves vulnerable to competitors if they fail to implement an effective growth strategy.
New research shows that businesses in other parts of the UK view that North East as uncompetitive, due to the belief that many have no strategy or activity for growth. Businesses in the region now need to act quickly to reverse this trend, or they could irsk loosing vital business opportunities.
Malcolm Gallagher, director of Bizvision commented: “There are far too many who have a mentality that Scotch Corner is their frontier and never to go past it.
“That means they are likely losing out on some great opportunities such as along the buzzing M62 corridor, as well as procurement and supply chain contracts, collaborations in other areas and even exporting.”
He is now encouraging businesses leaders to to look beyond Scotch Corner, and develop a sound growth strategy if they wish to emerge from the current economy in a stronger and more agile state.
Bizvision are currently developing a selection of initiatives to help companies evaluate and determine a growth strategy and action plan to help them prosper, including the Grow 2012 - D.I.Y. Business Boot Camp. This scheme will provide the tools needed to improve, but a lower cost than typical training programmes.
