Housing solution launched to tackle world shortages
An innovative solution to the world’s housing problems, and the growth of slums has been developed in the UK, and will now be rolled out across India.
The Nano house, created by Nano Living Systems is said to be the world’s cheapest, smallest and most sustainable house.
It is a light gauge steel design, measures 32 square metres and can be built within three days.
Successful testing in the UK, which has some of the strictest building codes in the world, has now allowed the house to be offered to private buyers and governments, with mass residential plants for India’s millions of poor and homeless leading the way.
The design is also equipped to bring down Co2 emissions, using passive solar energy as a completely free and renewable energy source.
A prefab kit format consisting of roofs, doors and windows etc, can be assembled in quickly, therefore making it ideal for relief after natural disasters.
The house shell provides an extensive lifespan that exceeds traditional building methods, and is also highly resistant to weather conditions and natural disasters.
