Siobhan McMahon has become a director of Darlington-based Niven Architects, and is hoping to take the practice to new heights.
She joins senior director Simon Crowe, and will work to establish the business on the regional and national stage.
Siobhan said: “I was really honoured to be asked to become a director. It is really exciting to have a stake in the future of the practice.
Managing director of Darlington-based AMP Consultants, David Hodgson, has been appointed as chairman of the Association for Consultancy and Engineering’s (ACE) North East regional committee.
ACE represent the business interests of its members and the overall engineering and consultancy industry in the UK.
Nelson Ogunshakin OBE, ACE chief executive, said: “I am delighted that David has stepped up to chair ACE’s regional group in the North East.
“David’s experience and passion for our vital industry makes him an ideal advocate. This will benefit ACE in the North East as our industry continues to address the challenges of 2012 and beyond.”
Gateshead Council has approved the appointment of its new chief executive, Jane Robinson.
Jane has been assistant chief executive since 2005, and will take over when Roger Kelly retires at the end of March.
Cllr Mick Henry, leader of Gateshead Council, said: “Jane is an excellent choice for Chief Executive. She has all the experience and expertise we are looking for to help steer the Council through the tough times ahead.”
National technology provider Onyx Group has appointed Jo Adair to head up its new public sector arm.
Jo brings a wealth of experience from BT Global Services, and will work on Onyx’s ambitious plans to accelerate growth over the next three years.
Commenting on her appointment, Jo said: “As an SME, now is the ideal time for Onyx to be moving into the public sector IT services market and I hope to develop us within this area.
“The Government has committed itself to increasing opportunities for SMEs and making it easier for them to win ICT business across the sector.
“I am confident that we can start securing new public sector work and grow the Onyx Public Sector arm.”
