Tait Walker pledge to raise £75,000 for 75th anniversary

To celebrate it’s 75th year in business, a local chartered accountancy firm has pledged to raise £75,000 for some of the region’s charities.

Tait Walker made the decision to give something back to the North East community who have supported them over the past eight decades, and now the firms 140 staff will take part in a rage of activities to raise the cash.

Employees have already kicked off proceedings with a ‘get fit in January’ pledge, and will take part in a range of activities, including the Three Peaks Charity Challenge and the Coast & Castles bike ride.

Managing Partner David Arthur, who joined the company in 1977, said: “By setting ourselves the challenge of raising £75,000 for local charities, the staff at Tait Walker are marking what is an impressive milestone for the company – the team are really proud of what we have achieved over the years but we wouldn’t be where we are without the support of the North East community.

“One of the main secrets to our success has been that we are a sustainable business with a sustainable outlook on practices such as management and staff development, for example we were recently awarded a Gold Investors in People accolade, putting us in the top 1% of elite UK businesses holding IIP accreditations in the UK.”

The firm, who has offices in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and Tees Valley, have pledged to split the total between a number of local charities, including Great North Air Ambulance, Tiny Lives and Macmillan Cancer Support.
