Global Expansion for International Recruiter

Leading recruitment specialists, BW Penman, has strengthened its global offering with the launch of a new office in Australia. Already operating internationally, the recruiter will now trade in the Asia Pacific market under BW Penman PTY Ltd, from its new base in Sydney.

BW Penman’s current Global Head of Energy, Chris Mills, has relocated to lead the businesses growth in Sydney. He will be partnered by colleague Ben Brown, who has been promoted to Regional Director, and will be responsible for the company’s Consumer and Medical sectors.

Launching the new Australian division is part of a five year growth strategy for the company and is set to be the first in a number of new office openings around the globe in 2012.

Andy Preston, Managing Director of BW Penman, commented on the company’s growth and said:

“As around 50 per cent of our business is with clients from overseas, we have recognised that there are many prospects globally. By moving to Sydney, we are able to remove the challenges that the time difference brings, leaving us to capitalise on the opportunities in the buoyant Australian and Asia Pacfic markets. We have been considering this move for some time and over the last 12 months we have worked closely with the trade commissions Austrade and UKTI, to make sure that this was the right step for us.

“Our new office in Sydney means that we are now able to provide our current clients in the Asia Pacific with a hands-on service, and also allows us to reach new candidates and build personal relationships with new contacts. This is a great start to 2012 and we look forward to what opportunities this year will bring.”

International recruiter BW Penman was established in October 2010 following the merger of BWB and Penman Executive. The recruitment specialist sources the world’s leading candidates in the consumer, energy and medical sectors, for some of the world’s leading brands.
