Utilitywise creates 200 Tyneside jobs
An Energy and Utilities consultancy has created almost 200 jobs in the region, after moving into new premises on Tyneside.
Utilitywise will double in size when it moves into its state of the art premises in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, bringing together the firm’s energy services and account arms under the same roof for the first time. It is hoped that the move will allow the firm to provide a comprehensive package of energy services.
Utilitywise specialises in energy auditing and Ecofit services to help businesses get the most out of their energy consumption. The firm have now created an account care team offering a top-teir brokerage service to provide clients with advice and support.
The company was only established five years ago, but has grown exponentially, signing up to 70 new accounts per day. Adam Thompson, managing director of Utilitywise has attributed the firms success to the Edd:e energy monitoring system.
The product was developed in-house, and allows businesses to identify cost savings down to individual circuits, and on average reduces energy consumption by 27%.
Mr Thompson commented: “Energy costs are one of the major pressures businesses of all shapes and sizes face.
“While securing the best rate is important, the biggest savings in energy costs come from reducing consumption and that is where we are able to support businesses, which is good news for them and for the environment.
“Having moved into the new premises we’re now able to offer our clients the complete package of savings under one roof.”
