Prestigious awards evening calls for nominations…

Following the success of the last five years, the Nigel Wright North East Accountancy Awards are back, and asking the Region to nominate the best in the finance and accounting sectors!

The sixth North East Accountancy Awards will recognise excellence within the fields of accounting and finance and presents the biggest opportunity in the North East for organisations and individuals to gain the prestige of being voted the leader in their sector.

The Awards are open to nominations from members and students of recognised professional bodies including AAT, ACCA, CIPFA, CIOT and ICAEW. This year there are 12 Awards including Finance Director of the Year, Branch of the Year, Corporate Finance Deal of the Year and Outstanding Achievement.

2011’s winners include P&G, PriceWaterHouseCoopers, KPMG, National Audit Office and TSG.

Mark Simpson, Group Executive Director at Nigel Wright’s North East Business, called for firms to get behind the event despite the difficult market conditions, and prove that individuals and teams within the region are still able to produce great results.

’It’s only right that those in the North East are recognised for their efforts at an awards ceremony such as this. Year on year it’s great to see everyone enjoying themselves on the evening – particularly those that took home an award!’

The nominations deadline is Friday 13th April.

The event already has a great deal of weight behind it with a high number of credible judges confirmed. The judges for the 2012 awards will be announced in March, be sure to check the website or twitter @NEA_Awards for the latest news.

The Awards Evening itself will take place at the Newcastle Marriott Gosforth Park on Thursday 31st May 2012 and will be a memorable opportunity to celebrate in the company of colleagues and peers.

Tables have now gone on sale for the evening, so whether you’re a nominee or simply want to be part of this respected event, book a table before it’s too late.

Not only will the awards evening be a black tie night of entertainment, and celebration of the sector, it will also be a fantastic networking opportunity.
