Manchester Business School collaborates with IIRSM

The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) and Manchester Business School have announced a new collaboration.

The two organisations have been awarded Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) funding for a project to develop risk management tool to help practitioners analyse complex data more effectively and accurately.

Over 18 months, the online tool will be designed to allow practitioners without specialist statistical knowledge, to conduct rigorous data analysis to support strategy and corporate objectives.

Barry Holt, Director of Policy and Research at IIRSM, said: “We are delighted to be
working in partnership with Manchester Business School once again.

“The project is an excellent example of how academic research and original thinking can be applied to improve business performance.”

The KTP associate will work in-house, as part of the IIRSM team, using the latest academic thinking, combined with industry expertise and guidance from IIRSM to develop the tool and accompanying education programme.

Manchester Business School’s Dr Jim Freeman, who is leading the project, said: “Working with IIRSM through the project will provide a vital and long overdue gateway to information, advice and resource in the risk management sector.”
