Former Apple CEO set for London cloud Forum

A former CEO of Apple and PepsiCo has been announced as the keynote speaker at the Cloud Computing World Forum in London in June.

John Sculley, former CEO of Apple will deliver the show’s opening speech, “Looking at Technology Innovation from the CEO’s Perspective.”

While at PepsiCo in the late 70a and 80s, Mr Sculley was responsible for overseeing the market innovations “Pepsi Generation” and “Pepsi Challenge” which helped propel the company to become the largest selling packaged consumer brand in America.

In his role as CEO of Apple between 1983 and 1993, he helped launch Apple’s 1984 Apple Macintosh, Desktop Publishing, and the Apple Powerbook.

It was during this time that he experienced an infamous working relationship with Steve Jobs, which has garnered much intrigue, controversy and speculation.

Since leaving Apple, Culley has gone on to build a number of transformational technology-enabled companies in information technology, financial services, telecommunications and healthcare, as well as mentoring entrepreneurs and CEOs.

His current role is managing partner for InflexionPoint, an IT and financial services investment firm with offices in London, Delhi, Dallas, Boca Raton, Florida and Toronto.

He joins a list of over 150 industry experts already confirmed to speak at the Forum, including Minister for the UK Cabinet Office, Francis Maude; CRO for Amazon, Werner Vogels; Chief Scientist for Salesforce.com, JP Rangaswami; CISO for eBay, Dave Cullinane and more.

Seminars are to be held across 8 theatres covering the latest trends and topics within cloud computing including SaaS, Security, Big Data, PaaS, Mobile, public sector, virtualisation, communications and Social CRM.
