Smelly adverts and flying machines for Gadget Show

The Gadget Show Live is heading to Birmingham NEC next month, bringing with it exhibits of brain powered cat ears, a one person flying machine and a bus stop that smells of jacket potatoes, among other weird and wonderful inventions.

In its expanded International Future Tech Zone, the show is set to feature even more of these bizarre innovations.

Necomimi from Neurosky are cat ears that move in accordance to their user’s emotions and will be available for attendees to try and buy for the first time.

A one-man aircraft called Parajet, combining paraglider and powered flight characteristics, will also be on display.

The Parajet is classed as a foot-launched aircraft and therefore requires no licence to pilot.

And a new breed of advertising development will be on show for audiences to take a sniff. The JCDecaux bus shelter advertisement actually smells of fresh baked potatoes through the ad for McCain Ready Baked Jackets.

Other areas of the show include the GAME Zone, The HUB theatre, with tech reviews presented by Stuff TV’s Lucy Hedges and Radio One’s Aled Hayden Jones, the Home Gadgets Zone and new Music Zone.

Presenters from the Channel 5 show will also be giving demos of the latest tech in high-energy live challenges.
