Money saving tips from Deal Jungle
All businesses need to spread the word about the products and services they offer and this is never more important than when you’re starting out and trying to get things off the ground. However advertising needn’t cost you the earth. Here Tom Michaels, founder of SME savings website DealJungle.com gives some tips on how to spread the word without splashing the cash.
Using the internet
It’s always easier to market to existing customers than new ones so why not create a newsletter and spread the word about your firm and it’s developments to those you’re already dealing with. Similarly why not create a blog and offer your views and advice on the industry? There has never been more demand for advice and both of these methods let you communicate and establish authority for free. Using forums and messages boards is also a great way to help and reach new customers, further establishing your expertise in the process.
Club Together
Being part of a business community in your local area can have many advantages, none more so than splitting costs. Why not see if other local firms would be interested in sharing cross promotional deals. They say sharing is caring and by clubbing together you will be able to reach a far larger group of consumers than by going it alone – and who knows you might even make some long term business relationships too.
Join Trade Associations
Joining a trade association by its definition will make other firms immediately aware of you and in the long term will be likely to refer you business as you build your reputation and credibility – just remember it’s a two way street. You’ll also get industry-specific information, advice, sales opportunities and other member benefits so it’s always worth investigating.
