£1.5m Renaissance Project of St George’s House
Exquisite Bolton building St George’s House is to undergo a major £1.5m restoration and refurbishment project to return it to its former glory, regeneration specialist Python Properties has announced.
The iconic five storey building, which was originally built in 1908 and was formerly the NHS Prescription Pricing Authority, will be transformed into high quality office and business space with an art gallery and bistro.
North West regeneration specialist and commercial developer Python Properties has acquired the town centre property, which is positioned on the corner of Bridge Street and St George’s Road, and will begin work on site within March.
The renaissance project will include retaining and restoring original features of the building including the spectacular staircase, which acts as a central focus, and the decorative high ceilings that had previously been hidden-away by the previous occupant.
Peter Broome, Python Properties partner, said: “St George’s House completely restored will be a superb place to work and do business. The regeneration project, which is anticipated to take four months, will respect the buildings past by retaining and re-establishing original features whilst providing tenants with first-class office and business facilities.”
“There will be a state-of-the-art art gallery and bistro within the ground floor entrance area of the building as well as a beautiful reception area.”
The developer has reported that the regeneration project is already attracting potential tenants to the property and reservations are now being taken.
Martin Johnson, partner at Python Properties added, “St George’s House will be our eighth regeneration project in the North and a very exciting development for Bolton. The building’s heritage and location within the town centre makes it very appealing office base, especially for SMEs.
Flexible lease terms, including break clauses and rent free periods, are available. Bespoke office suites can also be created within the property, ranging in size from 500 sq ft to 20,000 sq ft.
Rents for St George’s House are highly competitive at £9.50 sq ft, with a service charge of £2.75 sq ft, which includes a manned reception, use of the art gallery for events, conference room facilities and secure storage space in the basement.
