Continental Market Returns to Durham City Centre
Durham’s hugely successful Continental Food Market will return to the City’s Market Place for four whole days from Thursday 12th to Sunday 15th April 2012.
The twice-yearly Market is a much loved feature of the city’s annual calendar and highly regarded for bringing a considerable selection of continental foods to the North East. This week, the market is set to feature stalls from a wide range of countries including the UK, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, The Netherlands, Australia and Iran, offering a fantastic opportunity for locals to sample new culinary cuisines and pick up unique specialities from across the Continent and beyond.
Authentic foods on offer include Dutch poffertjes, Spanish tapas, traditional French bread, German sausages, Turkish delight, antipasti, spices, cheeses, Italian chocolate, handmade organic beer and alcohol free apple punch from the Mosel Valley.
“We’re delighted to see the return of the Continental Market for the first time in 2012,” says Colin Wilkes, Managing Director of Durham Markets, “We look forward to welcoming as many people as possible to join us for another great event!”
Durham’s Continental Market will operate from 9am to 5pm from Thursday 12th April to Saturday 14th April, and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday 15th April.
