Business trade summits taking place alongside London 2012.
Whilst the world is watching London in 2012 the government and its organisations are looking to put the spotlight on UK to promote the country abroad and encourage ‘long term economic benefits’.
The GREAT campaign will be putting the spot light on the UK off the back of the focus on the Olympics London 2012. It was set up by the Department for Culture, media and sport and is working alongside other government offices, British Council and VisitBritain
As part of the campaign The British Business Embassy will host a Global Investment Conference and between 26 July and 9 September 2012 events will be held at Lancaster House.
Each day the events will focus on a different area of business and will be designed to encourage growth and finance for UK business in the long term.
Company leaders that attend the events will be able to take the opportunity to hear from leaders in their fields as well as to interact with UK Government Ministers.
Prime Minister David Cameron explained,
“The conference and these events will place the UK at the forefront in addressing the challenges facing the global economy, and a chance to showcase UK business, secure new trade and inward investment and give our economy a major boost.”
A number of UK company’s have already signed up including, Barclays, BT, Burberry, HSBC, Jaguar Land Rover, Marks and Spencer, Rolls Royce, Shell, Sony Corporation, TalkTalk, Vodaphone and Warner Brothers, and Working Title.
