TAG Energy Solutions joins Government energy initiative
TAG Energy Solutions have become one of the first businesses in the UK to join the Government’s new renewables initiative.
The Prime Minister David Cameron unveiled plans for the new ‘Norstec’ industry partnership at the Clean Energy Ministerial Conference, which will bring together businesses looking to benefit from the North Sea’s renewable energy source.
20 firms from across the globe have signed up to the initiative, with the common goal of creating a major new renewable energy power centre in the North Sea. Signatories include major offshore wind developers and manufacturers, as well as a wide range of supply chain firms.
Alex Dawson, Chief Executive of TAG Energy Solutions, said: “Norstec brings together key players who recognise the enormous opportunity offered by the North Sea. We are proud to be among the first companies to join this initiative and be one of the representatives of the UK’s offshore renewables supply chain within the network.
The members of the partnership are committed to creating a new renewable energy power centre for Europe in the North Sea and to fully exploit the significant industrial opportunities that will come with this.
This network will come together around the time of RenewableUK’s conference on global offshore wind to discuss in more detail how the new partnership will operate.
Mr Dawson added: “This is a critical time for the industry and this new initiative demonstrates the collaborative attitude that exists in the industry to get the maximum benefit from the resource the North Sea offers.
“It has tremendous potential to deliver hundreds of gigawatts capacity for secure, clean, renewable power, which will in turn create and sustain thousands of jobs.”
