Providers sought for young start up loans

The Government has announced the second stage in the £10m ‘Start Up Loans’ for young people pilot scheme.

It aims to provide budding young entrepreneurs with support and a small amount of capital to get them started.

As an initial £10m has been made available, the Government is seeking providers for the loans.

Business and Enterprise Minister Mark Prisk said: “We want to give young people the best possible chance to start and grow their own enterprise.

“We want providers to come forward and demonstrate how they will be best placed to deliver this exciting scheme. By encouraging more young people to get into business we will be able to boost their entrepreneurial spirit and help the future growth of the UK economy.”

Any providers or consortiums interested can find more information here, and expressions of interest are open until 12pm on Wednesday May 9.
