Expo distress call prompts fast response
The organisers behind the North East’s largest free business to business event; the NE Expo have turned exhibition spot lights into blue flashing lights by coming to the rescue of stranded businesses.
Andrew Charlton of BACK Consulting and Network North’s Marc and Lorraine Gordon, discovered that a similar event to the NE Expo had been planned for 24th May at Newcastle United’s Sports Direct Arena but was cancelled after many firms had paid hundreds of pounds to attend.
Several exhibitors have been left out of pocket and demanding answers from the Norwich based organiser who has cancelled or postponed three exhibitions in the past five months under two different businesses. Norfolk Trading Standards officers are investigating the situation.
Now, following the success of the NE Expo, the organisers have agreed to take over the event in agreement with Newcastle United as a special one off event. Businesses that have lost money to the original organisers will be given a free stand at the event at the Sports Direct Arena in May.
“Business is hard enough without people being conned into parting with their money for a make believe exhibition,” said Andrew. “We are doing this for two reasons, firstly because many of the companies who have suffered are our NE Expo customers and secondly because we don’t like to see people losing money to unscrupulous businesses. This is also a great opportunity for those businesses that we turned away from the NE Expo because we were at full capacity, to show the North East what they can do.”
The event will be 24th May at the Sports Direct Arena. Guests can sign up at http://www.northeastexpo.co.uk
