Student see inspirational roof design featured on DS3
A student from the West Midlands is celebrating winning an online competition to design a one off roof for a brand new Citroën DS3.
18 year old Justine Lewis, who studies Graphic Design at Walsall College, entered the competition to come up with the most innovative roof design for the DS3 model on the Citroën Retail Group Facebook page last month.
The competition featured an app on the page that allowed entrants to draw their submissions, for the chance to win their design created for the DS3, use of the featured car for a weekend and a brand new 3D camera.
“I was absolutely delighted when I found out I had won, although I was really proud of it, I didn’t think for a minute my design would win out of the other people, especially those who entered from my graphic design course,” Justine said.
“My particular design was inspired by the adverts I’d already seen of the car and the vibrant colours that are associated with the DS3.
“I wanted to create something that was funky, fun and something I’d be excited to drive around in, which is what I think people look for in a new car.
“And it was such a great prize too - I absolutely loved the car, especially with it being personalised with my design on the roof and I had a fantastic weekend with it.
“I drove up to Stoke where I play for Stoke City Ladies Football to show the rest of the team my winning design and I can honestly say I didn’t want to give it back at the end of the weekend!
Justine’s design was picked from over 100 entries that were submitted on the Facebook page, which made the decision a particularly hard one for competition judge and Citroën Retail Group marketing coordinator, Richard Dewsbury.
“We were pleasantly surprised with the level of skill that went into some of the competition entry designs,” Richard said.
“There was some extremely inspirational ideas submitted, which made it a very tough process when it came to choosing a winner.
“Justine’s entry however, really stood out from the rest, it was vibrant and exciting and captures exactly what the new DS3 model is all about.
“It’s new, original and innovative style makes it radically different from other cars and it’s a clear celebration of Créative Technologie made famous by the Citroën range.
“We love interacting with our fans because it’s they who ultimately drive the cars away, so we’ve found that competitions like this give us some great feedback in terms of what our customers want to see from Citroën Retail Group.
“We’ve got some exciting competitions coming up in the near future, so if anybody wants to get involved, all they need to do is head over to the Citroën Retail Group Facebook page and give us a like.”
