Silver Clay Collection

I have been waiting to get my hands on some silver clay for a while now. And I have thoroughly enjoyed the process of perfecting some techniques using this amazing material. For anyone out there who is unaware of precious metal clay (PMC), it is basically small particles of metal held together with an organic binder and water. When you fire your finished piece the binder disappears as if by magic and you are left with a solid silver piece.

The silver itself is purer than sterling silver it is 99.9% silver. I love working with this material and I was even happier when I found out it was possible to use a 2D image and convert it into a 3D stamp. Suddenly the potential for this material opened up for me dramatically. Below you will see a series of images of the items that I have produced to date. Some inspired by the microscopy collection and other pieces have been produced using a direct texture from skeleton leaves.
