Masterclasses and seminars at EXPOsure
Several amazing Masterclasses and Seminars where you can learn about best practice guidance, tricks and tips from the experts and gain insight into new techniques and how the experts do it are taking place at EXPOsure on Thursday 24thMay at The Sports Direct Arena, Newcastle.
We’ve listed the details of each masterclass below. To attend one of these sessions make sure you book as places are very limited.

9.30 am – Pete Wilkinson – “Developing an Ironman Attitude“ – Ironman Attitude is about Being Focused, Being Consistent and Being Amazing! The keynote uses my experience from Ironman Triathlon in business success. The foundation of an Ironman Attitude is my 1-3-5 strategy. A simple one strategy that enables business owners to take focused action consistently!
10.30 am – Austen Hempstead – “It’s not how you start…“ -You can probably finish the sentence “It’s not how you start………” – Austen believes that it does little more than provide a 30 second ‘shot in the arm’ and in this presentation goes on to share his experiences and beliefs in the hope that they will do more to get you and your business where you want to go. Austen became self employed at the age of 20 and went on to build 2 highly successful businesses; his first had 15 offices across the UK. His 2nd venture opened in Dubai and expanded to Singapore and China. He retired at the age of 48. Austen has inspired audiences as large as 2,000 for various organ isations at conferences, conventions and sales rallies in the UK, the Middle East, the Far East and the Caribbean.

Jill Green is the Regional Manager and Top Consultant for the County Durham & Hartlepool in the North East Area.Coming from a Corporate background, Jill will show you how to use your Image as a Business tool. How to dress for success and how to make that first impression the right one to attract, win and retain business.

Paul’s company “The Beautiful Image” has an enviable reputation for brilliance and you’ll learn how to develop your image with hints and tips you can employ yourself and when you next engage a consultant to help with your visuals.
3.00 pm- Karen James – “Linked-In Simplified“ – Karen has a Promotional Practice qualification from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and spent three years as Marketing Co-ordinator for a small chain of pubs, planning promotions, producing the company newsletter and maintaining the website. When social media burst onto the internet scene it seemed a natural move to add social media marketing support to Cloud VA’s services and she now manages her own social media accounts for two years and has been delivering social media training and managing client accounts for the last year. Karen is very passionate about using social media for business, but using it in the right way! Her book, 365 Social media tips is now available at Amazon.

10.00 am – Simon Raybould “Bamboo and Oak: tools for staying strong in your business when it’s not going to plan!“ – It’s easy to be positive and enthusiastic about your business when things are going well – but the real test is when things aren’t going to plan. How do you stay strong, keep yourself motivated and force yourself to get on with things when you’d rather just keep your head down and hope the world leaves you alone?
Maybe you’re not gaining clients as fast as you’d like. Maybe you’re even losing clients. Maybe you just can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Using very simple tools, tips, tricks and techniques developed by psychologists (along with performers and athletes) Dr Simon Raybould of Aware Plus Ltd will be sharing some of the ways you can keep yourself motivated. As they say in the posters “Keep calm and carry on”.
11.00 am – Joe Waugh – “The Cycling Man of Steel“ - When you have real passion for something, you can’t leave it behind. Despite winning a gold medal in the Commonwealth Games, competing in the Olympics and overcoming life threatening injuries, Joe Waugh of continues to put everything he can into the sport he loves. Joe’s story proves that what comes up doesn’t always have to come down. Joe has achieved many accolades both in and outside the world of cycling. Now managing the North East’s longest serving cycling shop, he continues to use his wealth of experience to provide the best service to both the casual and passionate bike rider. With his days of international competition behind him, it becomes ap parent that his achievements, as well as his setbacks, make him one of the most skilled in his line of work.
Joe’s rise didn’t come quickly and after years of competing locally, his hard work paid off and he was asked to compete in a big international event. Joe proved his worth in this event which led him to bigger and better things. His snowballing success saw him competing as part of the 1976 Olympic team; an honour which he never thought possible. “From being an armchair sports fanatic to sitting with some of the greats in the sporting world was surreal.
12.00 pm – iCan do the Bizness Session – 4 very different speakers with 4 different messages in this fast moving 90-minute seminar during which you’ll hear all kinds of ideas to help you become more effective at generating business when face-to-face with clients. 2.00 pm – Peter Beardsley – “From Carlisle to Local Hero“ – Peter played between 1979 and 1999 and in that time once set a record transfer fee in the game and represented his country 59 times between 1986 and 1996, once as captain. He notably played for Newcastle United, Liverpool and Everton, having also had spells with Carlisle United, Manchester United and Vancouver Whitecaps. He is currently employed as the Reserve Team manager of Newcastle United. He was briefly appointed as the club’s caretaker manager in 2010 and will talk about the business of football, how it has changed and his own experiences of managers.
