RFM Group supports charity in Willy Wonka race
Leading facilities management company, RFM Group recently participated in the fifth annual Dragon Boat Race at Roundhay Park, Leeds, in support of Martin House Children’s Hospice.
The event saw 37 teams battle it out on the beautiful Roundhay Lake, in colorful boats to raise cash for charity.
The firm chose a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory race theme, with team members from RFM dressing up as characters from the popular children’s film. Business Development Director Tony Hulme sported a Willy Wonka costume with the remainder of the nine strong team dressed as Oompa Loompas.
The team performed brilliantly on the day and managed to raise more than £600 for charity.
RFM Group Managing Director, Ian Flanagan said: “Participating in this year’s Dragon Boat race was great fun and a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the local community. I’m really proud that the team managed to raise such a significant amount for Martin House Children’s Hospice, the company’s chosen charity and one which is very much close to our hearts.”
Martin House Children’s Hospice cares for children with life limiting illnesses and provides support to their families.
