Review: Bob Geldof at the PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay
Following a fantastic sunny North East weekend, Bdaily popped along to the PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay to sample Irish singer, songwriter, author, occasional actor and political activist Sir Bob Geldof perform.
Geldof and his band didn’t let the late evening fog on the Tyne put off entertaining his audience with over two hours of Irish jigs and songs from his new album before a finale getting everybody up on their feet dancing to the classic Boomtown hits. Fantastic show, showing how able a musician and forthright speaker that he is.
His new album “How To Compose Popular Songs That Will Sell” is Geldof’s fifth album as a solo artist (his eleventh including his work with the Boomtown Rates). The album includes 14 new compositions recorded with his band at his own home.
