Bdaily Olympic giveaway winners announced

Over the past two weeks, we have been offering 5 lucky Bdaily readers a chance to receive a pair of wristbands for Newcastle’s Olympic Torch Relay event, this Friday 15th June on the Quayside.

Readers had to retweet a message displayed on the Bdaily Twitter feed to be in with a chance of getting their hands on the privileged wristbands.

The celebrations will allow 5,000 attendees to enjoy a variety of entertainment, including local performers, musicians and dancers staged by presenting partners Coca-Cola, Lloyds TSB and Samsung, with support from Newcastle City Council.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a number of activities including having their photograph taken with the London 2012 Torch and other Olympic-related activities.

The last torchbearer of the day will also be given the honour of lighting a celebration cauldron on stage to allow the Olympic Flame to be seen by the audience.
