Beyond Digital secures £250,000 investment
A North East signage firm has secured a £250,000 investment, enabling the business to construct a new demonstration facility and grow its number of employees.
Beyond Digital Solutions supplies digital signs to a wide range of clients including Butlins, Volvo, Esquires Coffee Houses and the NHS. Its products are based around centrally-managed digital displays providing targeted information, entertainment and advertising.
The funding comes from existing angel investor Middleton Enterprises and Newcastle-based venture capitalist Northstar Ventures’ Finance for Business North East Accelerator Fund.
Northstar director Ian Richards said: “BDS is a dynamic and exciting young company, and we are delighted to be involved in this round of funding. The new demonstration suite is really going to help them by being able to demonstrate to potential clients how digital signage can promote their own businesses.”
The firm is the UK partner of Scala, a worldwide digital software brand, and was recently selected by US digital signage specialist Four Winds Interactive as its European Partner.
Louise Richley, managing director of Beyond Digital – which has created five new jobs since the beginning of this year, said: “It is testament to the on-going success of Beyond Digital that we have secured this funding, which is allowing us to invest in facilities and create new employment opportunities for the region.
“The digital signage market is a rapidly growing area of business and this investment puts us in an excellent position to capitalise on the opportunities available.”
Business angel Jeremy Middleton of Middleton Enterprises, a stakeholder in Beyond Digital Solutions, added: “It is great to see an exciting digital business expand in the North East.
“It is one of only a few companies that can offer end-to-end support for clients looking to use digital signage. I think it has great potential.”
