Node4 expands Yorkshire data centre

A Leeds-based data and communications centre is continuing its rapid growth, after opening a new hall at its Leeds base.

Node4 made the decision in response to increased demand for resources, which have as a result boosted their data centre capacity, creating space for 128 racks in 4x32 pods. The new centre is set to open on 1 September.

Andrew Gilbert, the Managing Director of Node4, said, “We are really looking forward to opening the new hall at our Leeds data centre because it is a direct response to what our customers want.

“They have been growing in number and as a result, we are providing them with a much more spacious data centre that will mean many more people will benefit from our award-winning service.”

The firm have attributed their success to a formula built on the latest technologies which ensure that security remains a foremost priority. This attention to security ensures that all facilities remain safe, resilient and reliable.

Within the new hall, a dual power option will be available to all racks from separate panel boards and UPS. There will be 3.75KW per rack average power with up to 7.5KW per rack available.

All power will backed by UPS and N+1 generators with unlimited run-time. This will be combined with a cold aisle containment system, fully redundant (N+N) free cooling chillers, high efficiency CRAC units and multiple redundant humidifiers to ensure the racks continue to operate consistently.

There will be redundant multi homed internet feeds available, a 10 Gb diverse MPLS network and will be carrier neutral. Onsite technical support will be provided as well as an intelligent hands service to ensure that help is always available.
