Business community to meet and discuss Green Deal
Leading members of the business community have met to discuss delivery of energy efficiency measures available under the Green Deal.
The “Roundtable on SME-led Green Deal models is being co-convened by the Rt Hon Nick Raynsford MP, Honorary President of the National Home Improvement Council and includes membership from a number of Trade Bodies representing small companies and trades people, including the Federation of Master Builders, Electrical Contractors Association and the Glass and Glazing Federation.
Commenting on the roundtable meeting, Energy and Climate Change Minister Greg Barker said: “The Green Deal will be a massive opportunity for businesses of all sizes and one of my personal priorities is to see smaller businesses – such as local builders, plumbers and roofers – get a slice of the action too.”
It is hoped that the panel will provide recommendations to DECC Ministers to show how SME-led business models can be delivered, the best means to communicate the Green Deal to SME Trades.
