Bond Solutions appoints two apprentices

Bond Solutions are supporting growth in the North East by appointing two new apprentices to their team of six.

The company, specialising in customer relationship management (CRM) software, is based at The North East Business and Innovation Centre (BIC) and have welcomed Faye Maw and Hannah Potter.

Managing Director, Derek Curtis explains: “We normally employ graduates but decided to take a different approach this year to see how we, as a business, could grow.

“We wanted to find people at that early stage of learning so that we could coach and develop them within our team. Both Faye and Hannah have brought so much enthusiasm to their roles and their willingness to learn is fantastic and of course fundamental to succeeding.”

Faye, 18, from Sunderland, has joined Bond Solutions as an Accounts Apprentice, she said: “I completed my A-Levels in Law, Business, English literature and language before joining the company. Working here has been a big learning curve for me. It is real hands on learning experience compared to the classroom environment and I have discovered and experienced so much in a short space of time.

“I decided to go down the apprentice path because this meant that I could get further job training which would give me more work experience which would hopefully lead to making me stand out from graduates. I have always been interested in accountancy and thought this would be the best route into becoming a qualified accountant.”

Hannah, 19, also joined the company as an IT apprentice and when she is not at work she is taking part in amateur dramatics in her home town of South Shields, Hannah said:
“At college I studied art and design, law, government, English literature and language and like Faye I decided to do an apprenticeship because I found it to be more beneficial to me than being in a classroom environment.

“This way I gain more qualifications and earn a wage at the same time. I have already completed one apprenticeship in business and administration and decided to learn more on IT as the two go hand in hand not to mention that I simply enjoy it and I am aware that it is a relevant and useful qualification to have now in the working world as well as daily life.”

David Howell, Director of Operations at the North East BIC, said: “No-one can deny the added value that apprenticeships bring to any business. They offer a viable route for enable organisations to expand and for young people to develop valuable skills sets. Here at the BIC we have had over 10 apprentices on board with us here since last September, all of whom have been enthusiastic, motivated and keen to learn, as a result they have gone on to achieve great success. I am delighted that our tenants recognise the benefits of such programmes and are following suit.”
