Celebrate Graduation With Fratello’s

The graduating class of 2012 are being given the chance to celebrate their achievements with an Italian-style feast for family and friends.

This July, to coincide with the graduation dates of bothNewcastleandNorthumbriaUniversities, Fratello’s Italian restaurant chain is offering graduates and their families the chance to enjoy an authentic three-course meal in an exclusive special deal.

The offer, which will run from July 9 to July 22 at all three branches of Fratello’s at Jesmond, in the grounds of Newcastle International Airport and Scotch Corner, will allow visitors to choose from a selection of starters, main courses and desserts at the aptly discounted price of £20.12 per person.

Options on offer include starters of homemade soup, ham hock terrine with piccalilli, goats’ cheese and beetroot tartlet with pine kernels and rocket and pan-fried mussels with rosemary and pancetta.

Main courses range from pan-seared salmon with parmentier potatoes and wilted greens to supreme of chicken stuffed with sun-blushed tomatoes and mozzarella and spinach and ricotta cappelletti with white wine parmesan cream. An 8oz chargrilled sirloin will also be available with confit tomatoes, peppercorn sauce and handcut chips at a small supplement.

To round off the celebration diners will be able to choose from a variety of desserts including Fratello’s tiramisu, strawberry cheesecake, warm chocolate brownie with vanilla pod ice cream and a selection of sorbets and ices.

Groups of six people or more will also receive a complimentary bottle of Prosecco to accompany their meal.

“Family is hugely important in Italian culture and we hope that our special offer will not only help the students mark their achievements, but will also add to the happy memories of the occasion for them, their fellow students, family and friends.”

Fratello’s, owned and operated by the North East-based Cairn Group, can be found next to the Holiday Inn Newcastle-Jesmond hotel, the DoubleTree byHiltonNewcastleAirporthotel and the recently refurbished Holiday Inn, Darlington A1 Scotch Corner Hotel.

All three sites will be offering the same graduation menu, with a range of alternatives available during this period and year-round, for those who aren’t celebrating the end of their studies.

This includes an A La Carte menu, offering an array of fine foods such as pastas, risottos, traditional stone-baked pizzas and meat and fish-based main courses, a separate Bambini menu for diners under 12, an early bird menu offering two courses for £8.95 and a weekly Sunday lunch menu featuring a variety of Italian classics and traditional British roasts.

All dishes are made using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients wherever possible.
