Lord Green opens new research and marketing facility

Trade Minister Lord Green has cut the ribbon at Intercede Group’s new research and marketing facility on the companies 20th anniversary.

Lord Green travelled to Intercede’s headquarters in Leicestershire to open the new facility which will provide accommodation for more than 30 additional staff and will be used to support the companies corporate development and expansion plans.

Security software provider Intercede developed MyID, an identity management platform which enables global organisations and governments to create trusted digital identities for employees and citizens on secure devices including smart phones and tablets.

Lord Green said: “The government views the role of small and medium size enterprises as critical to spurring an export-led UK economic recovery through innovation and entrepreneurship.”

He continued to say: “Intercede is an excellent example of the kind of business the UK needs to sustain growth.”

During his visit, Lord Green discussed the success of Intercede’s export deals and showed an interest in how the company generated 88% of its sales from overseas markets including 64% from North America.

The company operates in global markets and with large international partners including BT, HP and Microsoft to deliver flexible digital identity solutions which they can exchange with existing technologies and tailored to the needs of its customers.

Intercede’s chairman and chief executive Richard Parris said: “It is an accolade to our team that a government minister agreed to open out new facility.

“During Lord Green’s visit we discussed how Intercede has harnessed local talent to create a world beating technology for managing digital identities. Lord Green acknowledged the tremendous growth potential of our business and the help and support available from the local UKTI team to help Intercede exploit its leadership position.”

The UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) is the government organisation which provides integrated support services companies who are involved in overseas trade and foreign enterprises seeking to locate in the UK.
